Hey There

I wanted to change the world of education, to see all children allowed to express their full selves, follow their passions, learn in their own way and share their amazing ideas with the world. I felt stuck and frustrated and anxious and depressed. Then I started Limitless.

All About Me

I imagine if you're here you're a little bit like me:

  • Passionate

  • Dedicated

  • Eager to make an impact on the world

  • Annoyed

  • Frustrated

  • Stuck

I felt this way for many years. Most of my years in fact. I worked hard and built a beautiful family, a stable career, and lovely a home, but there was always something missing. Something that was my own, that I could create and bring into the world that expressed my real passion. My passion for people to dream big and make their big ideas a reality, and my dream for this to start in childhood. I'd played with being a teacher, working in a University, being a school governor, being a manager and leader, organising workshops and meetings and events about education, attending conferences, going on leadership training, and developing myself as a coach. There were things about all of this that I loved, but they still weren't exactly right.

In 2021 I hit the point where I finally felt like something had to change. I took a plunge and worked with a wonderful coach who discovered my passion for big dreams, my desire to revolutionise the education system, and my skills for speaking and coaching. And so, my idea for Limitless was born.

What is Limitless?

Limitless is a podcast and community of people who have a big dream to change the way we educate our children or make other big change in the world. You may have a clear idea of what you want to do, but it never quite seems to happen. Or, you may know you want to make a difference, but you don't know how. Limitless will inspire you with guests who are making waves in the education system and then provide you with knowledge of how to make change through lived experience and neuroscience, you will learn how to take that all important first or next step, overcome barriers and hurdles, and meet others who are doing the same as you.

Since starting the Limitless podcast, for the first time in my life I have felt less frustrated and less stuck. I feel like I'm finally doing something I have been called to do for years.

Why education?

In many parts of the world, a national education system is now embedded into our societies and has enabled us to leap forwards in technological and societal advancements. It has paved the way for equality, knowledge sharing, and inventions we never would have thought possible. Over the past 100 or so years we have seen education go from something for the privileged to a right for every child, from a free-for-all to something structured and well-understood.

However, with the new scientific understanding we now have of the way children learn and the current context in which we are educating our children, we can do so much better. Changes in the education system have not kept up with modern-day requirements and understanding and this is now obvious in the way we focus on test scores, the shortage of teachers, and the increasing poor mental health of adolescents. Education needs to be revolutionised and provide what is needed for the current and future generations.

Big dreams start when we are children. We don't need permission to think of how we will change the world when we are young, and yet we lose this ability as we grow and our education tells us what is most important and how to do everything. My desire is for children to retain these big ideas and for education to teach them how to bring them to life. I want to inspire people to inspire children so that our world is full of possibilities and equal chances instead of privilege and test failures.

Our world is not simple, it cannot be neatly packaged into a handful of academic subjects, success cannot be demonstrated by a few test scores. We have complex problems to solve, and we need children to retain their creativity, curiosity, and confidence to solve them.

When we change education, we change the world.
